Copywriting

Copywriting isn’t the little c in the circle; it is an industry term for the textual content (the information) that goes along with every form of marketing and advertising either print or web and it is by far the most overlooked discipline.

When advertising your brand you would love to put in every little detail about yourself, your products and services but you can’t because ad space is costly and people’s attention spans are quite short so you need to effectively communicate your idea in a confined space in the media it was designed for with a tone that represents your company.

It gets even more difficult when writing copy for the web because people use search engines such as Google or Yahoo to find the pertinent information they are looking for, so making sure every word and sentence you use has a purpose relevant to the searcher needs is very important to get your company found online.

Can you imagine if you owned a bicycle shop and typed your location and the word “bikes” into a search engine and only your competitors came up? It happens all the time. Websites are information driven so to neglect the whole point why people are visiting your site is detrimental to your business.
